RTR Kits Common Problem

by james mccombie
(lancaster)

I've found with more powerful nitro buggys, truggys, & monster trucks that the steering servo in most cases is substandard. It's worth asking the retailer what its power output is. For all 1/8 scale you will need something 8kg per inch or more. It's a worth while upgrade if not all ready supplied in the package.

Thanks for pointing that out James! And yes you are right. This does often seem to be a problem for ready to run kits. My Google Fu tells me 8kg is about 282 oz/in of torque. I wouldn't say quite that much is needed but for racing, I try to shoot for at least 200 oz/in.
